In a seductive storefront around the corner from ever-hip Avenue Santa Fe, the owners of Bar Uriarte and Sucre Restaurant debut a distinguished supper club and cocktail lounge in one of BA's trendiest neighborhoods. The bar and lounge are a regular stomping ground for BA fashionistas who sprawl-out on leather sofas, upholstered banquettes and cubist bar stools while chatting about the hottest new polo players and latest one-name Argentine designer. The deco-minded social space features exposed brick walls accented by a rafter ceiling with industrial lighting and lofty steel ducts. A small dining room continues the dark-leather theme with metal-footed tables and ironclad flatware set by a staff with slicked-back hair and model-good looks.
The Food
Many people, especially the fashion kind, visit Bar Danzon without ever lifting a fork. Known as a watering hole for the rich and beautiful, the supper club-inspired eatery is one of the best in BA and part of an ever-growing restaurant collection that includes Sucre and Bar Uriarte. Meals begin with signature appetizers like grilled langoustines with pancetta, macrobiotic spring rolls and selection oysters. With an in-house sushi chef, many nightlife-minded revelers indulge in one of the many sashimi patters priced around $45 as well as a selection of American-style cut roll loftily priced at around $40 " each. Main course entrées include grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, and market-fresh seafood that usually engulfs the compact dining space in a sea of fishy fog.
